Projects
City of Alexandria
Some of my design projects with the City of Alexandria include the City's Earth Day 2022 logo, a postcard mailed to residents with winter weather information, social media graphics and videos, and so much more.
In my comms position with Transportation & Environmental Services' Stormwater Management Division, I played a key role in the launch of several programs and initiatives, including Flood Action Alexandria and the Flood Mitigation Pilot Grant Program. As part of the public outreach and engagement process, I created a multitude of educational materials to help promote these initiatives and programs.

The following are public-facing materials I designed that live on the City's website:

Communications
From press releases to digital newsletters, I have a variety of work that demonstrates my writing skills:

Social Media Management
In less than a year of taking over T&ES’ social media accounts, I shifted our entire social strategy from solely posting content like text-heavy graphics to producing content focused on visual storytelling. This strategy not only increased our audience growth, engagements and video views, but became the model for the entire City to replicate.

The snapshot to the right shows the increase of video views from T&ES' social channels over the course of 10 months, from December 2021 to September 2022. I took over the social media channels in November 2021. The increase is in comparison to the previous 10-month reporting period, January 2021 to November 2021.
Take a look at a before and after of T&ES' Instagram grid. Notice the difference? You can see the literal shift from posting tons of meeting notices and text-heavy graphics to showing faces and sharing video content. (Pictured left: the grid prior to me managing the channel; pictured right: the grid after I began managing the channel.)

News Reporting
Before transitioning into communications, I worked as a news reporter at The Sun News based in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. I covered everything from breaking news to crime to local politics and even weather. In addition to in-house publications, my work has been featured in all 30 of McClatchy’s markets, including the Miami Herald, Fort Worth Star-Telegram, and The Sacramento Bee.
